Fifth-grade students across Breckinridge County, including Cloverport Independent Schools Students are invited each year to participate in our annual Student Day! Students discover what life was like during the Civil War period through performances by Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Larry Elliot, as he tells stories about the nation’s 16th president and Judge Holt. Tour guides walk students and their teachers through the historic home as they shared stories about Holt’s legacy, state partnership, and continued restoration on the last official Kentucky Lincoln site in the Commonwealth.
17th Annual Community Day

The Holt Home Community Day is an annual patriotic observance, to promote Joseph Holt's legacy of selfless service, unity and liberty.
“A must see stop” like nothing else in Kentucky! Enjoy a fun-filled day with family and friends with events like guided tours of the Holt Home, interactive reenactments with guests dressed for the era, a silent auction, cannon firing, a vintage Civil War era baseball game, a presidential wreath-laying ceremony at the Holt monument, patriotic and period music with spirited dancing, distinguished guest speakers, Breckinridge County High School Concert Band, Kentucky Home Guard Band, Guilderoy Byrne Band, various reenactors and so much more!
Christmas Tour

Visit the home of Judge Advocate General Joseph Holt for a family-friendly Christmas celebration! Guests will enjoy light refreshments and tours of the home, showcasing all the holiday decorations and viewing beautiful, recently donated pieces of period furniture and other historic items through the home.
Concert on the Lawn
Saturday, June 7th, 2025

Join Friends of the Holt Home for a picnic and concert on the lawn on Saturday, June 7th. The house will open for tours at 5:00 PM, with music starting at 7:00 PM. Feel free to bring chairs, a blanket and a picnic basket to sit under the stars and listen to jazz music brought to you by the Owensboro Symphony Jazz Ensemble.
